- The federal government has dismissed the opposition leader's principles on an emissions
trading scheme as nothing more than wilted fig leaves to cover up the fact that his party
is dominated by skeptics.

- A court has heard that a Sydney teenager accused of murdering his father and stabbing
his mother also planned to kill two classmates.

- An 11-year-old Sydney girl is suing fast food chain KFC for more than $10 million,
