FED:Don't think carbon tax will get up: Abbott

CANBERRA, Feb 25 AAP - People shouldn't assume the Gillard government's carbon tax
will get up, Opposition Leader Tony Abbbott says.

Industry will start paying for the right to pump carbon emissions into the air from July 2012.

While the start date of an emissions trading scheme is yet to be determined, Mr Abbott
said a popular uprising could stop the carbon tax regime.

"I don't think anyone should assume that this tax is going to get up," he told ABC
